National Firearms Act (NFA) Item Process

For the initiated, you can place any NFA item in your cart, pay for it, and send a copy of your dealer's FFL & SOT to  For items that are not in stock, send me an email  and we will be more than happy to place an order on your behalf upon receipt of payment.

For first time purchasers of an NFA (National Firearms Act) item such as a Suppressor or Short Barreled Rifle do not let the paperwork scare you.  Most people do more paperwork when they buy a car.  The processing for purchasing an NFA item and actually taking possession can take anywhere from three months to one year depending on if you can find the particular item in stock locally or if the distribution networks have the items in stock.  Some NFA items are built in batches once every few months and this will prolong the process.  While this process can be maddening and seem to take forever, we assure you it is well worth it in the end.

Here is how to purchase an NFA item form Metal Gear

  1. Find the Item that we have in stock
  2. Contact your local FFL/SOT (Gun dealer that can also sell NFA items) and let them know that you will be having an NFA item shipped to them (there may be a fee on their end for this)
  3. Place the item in your cart and pay for it
  4. Send a copy of your dealers FFL&SOT to
  5. If you see an item that we do not have in stock we will be happy to order it for you.

Our process for placing orders for items not currently in stock:

  1. Find the NFA item you want in inventory
  2. Email and let us know which items you would like
  3. We will let you know the time horizon on the item as well and payment arrangements
  4. Once payment has been received we will arrange for shipment in one of the following two ways:
    1. We will add your order to one of our bulk orders (this will save you $$ in the end)
    2. We can have your item ordered on an expedited basis but this will ultimately increase your cost.
